Stonewall Philly is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team! We are currently recruiting for four exciting roles: Membership Experience Director, National Board Representative, League Operations Director, and Education Director. While we have dedicated individuals currently supporting league operations and education, we welcome interested candidates to apply as these roles may become available. Membership Experience Director
The Member Experience Director serves as a member of the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia Board for a 2 year term with the opportunity to continue for additional terms. This role is responsible for overseeing activities related to Stonewall leagues & the member experience including:
Providing support to Sports Directors in the intersection between leagues and members
Collaborating with Sports Directors to plan and implement opportunities for community building initiatives within leagues including but not limited to new player orientation, league social support, special events such as practice days, theme days, and more.
Analyzing member feedback about league experience, and making recommendations to the Sports Directors & Stonewall Board
Identifying and recommending improvements to the Stonewall member experience through a focus on retention strategies, member outreach, and communication
Work with the DEIA, Education, and Events Directors and Committees to gather feedback and provide insight on how to leverage their feedback to improve the member experience
Support and plan post-league activities to build community across Stonewall leagues in collaboration with the events committee.
Identify and provide targeted outreach to new members of the Stonewall community during their first season to provide support and gather feedback on how to improve their experience
Collaborating with Communications and Community Outreach Directors to develop strategies for new member recruitment and current member retention
Respond to member emails as needed and copy in appropriate Board Members
In addition to the above activities, by serving as a member of the Stonewall Sports Board, the Sports & Membership Director is expected to:
Uphold the mission of Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia
Attend monthly Board Meetings typically on Tuesday or Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30.
Participate in additional meetings and calls as needed between scheduled Board Meetings.
Support Stonewall social events, leagues, communication efforts, charities, and sponsors as able or requested to throughout the year.
Commit 2-6 hours a week to Stonewall Sports activities depending on time of year.
While engaging in Stonewall Sports, serve as a model member of the Stonewall community through exhibiting sportsmanship, promoting inclusivity, and building community with our league members and the Philadelphia LGBTQIA community at large.

National Board Representative
The National Board Representative serves as a member of the Stonewall Sports National Board. This role is responsible for representing Stonewall Sports Philadelphia to the National Board for a three-year term. The role serves as an ex-oficio member of the Stonewall Sports - Philadelphia Board and attends local chapter meetings for meetings and meets regularly with the Commissioner. The qualifications/expectations of this role as outlined by Stonewall Sports include:
Passion – deep interest in the mission of Stonewall Sports
Vision and Leadership — the ability to see the big picture and the courage to set direction to achieve the organization’s mission
Stewardship — the integrity to serve the interests and pursue the goals of Stonewall Sports
Diligence — dedication and commitment to fulfilling our organizational goals
Collegiality — possessing a sincere and respectful attitude toward fellow board members and their views
Discretion — Maintain confidentiality of board discussions and speaks with one voice when representing the organization to our community
Bring your personal expertise and city’s interests to the organization, but bear in mind your primary obligation of stewardship is to the national organization as a whole
Attendance - come to the meetings regularly, on time, and be well-prepared
Respect disagreement without personalizing the debate, and avoid paralysis in the face of dissent
Ask questions and be prepared with solutions rather than accepting the status quo
Welcome information and advice, but reserve the right to make decisions based on your own best judgment
In addition to the duties outlined above, this individual should be expected to:
Commit 2-8 hours a week to Stonewall Sports depending on time of year
Attend the annual Fall Board retreat (expenses covered by Stonewall Nationals)
Provide monthly reports to the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia Board
Work with the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia Commissioner to identify best avenues for local board engagement and communication

Education Director
The Education Director serves as a member of the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia Board for a 2 year term with the opportunity to continue the role for additional terms. This role is responsible for overseeing the Education Committee and managing Stonewall’s educational initiatives including:
Supporting and directing the Education Committee comprised of 4-5 active members of the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia community, tasked with fulfilling our mission as an educational organization under our 501c3 non-profit status
Providing education outlets to the Stonewall community with the support of our nonprofit and community partners in the areas of, but not limited to: health and wellness, player development, community engagement, LGBTQIA+ history, etc.
Contribute to developing an overall structure and vision for what a successful educational element to the Stonewall experience looks like
Supporting the development of resources and implementation of events related to the goals of the Education Committee
Working closely with the DEIA Director and Events Director in planning and aligning the work of Stonewall committees
Collaborating with the Community Outreach Director, Communications Director, Sponsorship & Fundraising Director, and Finance Director to ensure effective implementation of initiatives
Exploring opportunities to expand Stonewall Sports educational offerings to increase partnerships with local non-profits and organize initiatives for the Stonewall community

League Operations Director
The League Operations Director serves as a member of the Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia Board for a 1 year term with the opportunity to continue for 3 additional terms. This role is responsible for overseeing activities related to Stonewall leagues & program operations including:
Providing support to Directors who oversee kickball, dodgeball, volleyball (sand/indoor), bowling, billiards, bocce, trivia, yoga, and Stonewall In Motion.
Developing a comprehensive and consistent vision for the Stonewall experience across all leagues and programs.
Working with the Commissioner to draft yearly league schedules and registration timelines.
Managing registration processes from setup to closing for all leagues & programs while assisting members with questions and challenges related to registration.
Working with captains to ensure team capacity requirements are met, t-shirts are ordered, and teams receive all required preseason communication.
Overseeing successful implementation of leagues through supporting Directors to lead League Management teams, league events, day of play, manage inventory of league equipment, and all league scheduling logistics
Reviewing and responding to member feedback about league experience and making recommendations to the league/program Directors & Stonewall Board
Being knowledgeable of all Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia league rules and ensuring they remain updated and facilitate a positive member experience
Maintaining a log of all challenges regarding sportsmanship and speaking directly to members as issues arise to mitigate challenges and ensure they do not occur again
Maintaining a log of all injuries, reporting to Commissioner, and following up with members.
Providing feedback regarding league related communication sent to players
Overseeing t-shirt orders and coordinating tshirt pickup for leagues
Collaborating with Member Experience Director to support free agent teams, new members, and communication regarding to player challenges.
Additionally, by serving as a member of the Stonewall Sports Board, the Commissioner is expected to:
Uphold the mission of Stonewall Sports-Philadelphia
Commit 6-10 hours a week to Stonewall Sports activities/duties depending on time of year.
Attend monthly Board Meetings typically on Monday or Tuesday night from 7:00-9:00.
Participate in additional meetings and calls as needed between scheduled Board Meetings.
Support Stonewall social events, leagues, communication efforts, nonprofit partners, and sponsors as able or requested to throughout the year.
